Board Members – Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund
The Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from passionate, community-minded individuals who are suitable and willing to join our volunteer Board of Directors.
We are a 100% local not-for-profit registered charity located in Albury dedicated to supporting cancer services in Albury Wodonga and surrounding regional centres. All funds raised stay here in our region to support our family, friends, colleagues and fellow community members who are going through a cancer journey
About the Organisation
The Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund was established by the Albury Wodonga Cancer Foundation as the official fundraising arm of the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre in 2014.
The Trust Fund works tirelessly to raise funds to ensure that our local community members have access to a first-class facility, close to home, and to their loved ones.
The funds raised by the Trust Fund are allocated across four strategic pillars:
- Wellness Centre services and programs
- Research and clinical trials
- Education and training for staff
- Equipment that supports cancer treatment

We encourage and support our community to raise funds to improve local cancer services.
We manage and allocate the funds raised to help provide the best outcomes for local people with cancer.

Role of the Board
Board members of the Trust Fund are volunteers who contribute their skills, networks and leadership to help govern the organisation and advance its mission. As a Board member, your key responsibilities will include:
- Guiding strategic direction and planning
- Ensuring transparent and effective governance
- Implementing and maintaining an appropriate risk management policy and procedures
- Advocating for the Trust Fund and engaging with the community
- Overseeing the allocation of funds to ensure maximum community impact
- Ensuring the Trust can meet its ongoing funding commitments
- Supporting major fundraising campaigns and initiatives
We value a diverse range of experiences, especially in governance, fundraising, finance, legal, marketing, healthcare, and community engagement.
What we’re looking for (Skills Matrix Needs)
We’re seeking individuals with a strong connection to the Albury Wodonga region who are passionate about enhancing local cancer services and are willing to commit their time, energy, and expertise to actively contribute to the role.
Ideally, new board members would have experience in some of the following areas:
- Finance and Accounting
- Cancer care and/or allied health
- Legal, risk, governance and compliance
- Government sector experience
- Media management, communication and marketing
- Technology & IT systems
- Fundraising/philanthropy
Commitment
There are 11 board meetings each year and Board members are expected to support community engagement events and represent the Trust throughout the year at fundraising events.
Term and Remuneration
Directors are appointed for a three-year term. There is a maximum term of three reappointments, being a cap of nine years. Director positions are voluntary and there is no remuneration for your time.
