Former Royal Children’s nurse steps into role
A former Royal Children’s Hospital nurse has stepped into the role of Paediatric Cancer Care Coordinator at Albury Wodonga Health.
Imogen Riley commenced on February 19 in the role funded by Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund following donations from the Albury SS&A Club and the Phegan family.
She replaces former Paediatric Cancer Care Coordinator, Joanna Owen, who is now Nurse Unit Manager of the Albury Hospital children’s ward.
After starting her nursing career at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne in 2016, Ms Riley developed a passion for paediatric oncology and went on to gain further qualifications in the area at the University of Melbourne in 2018.
Mrs Owen said Ms Riley’s passion for paediatric oncology and family-centre care made her perfect for the position.
“Imogen speaks of her excitement in continuing to grow this role and the impact it has for our local families,” she said.
