Freezing conditions do not deter when a cause is close to your heart
It was an icy cold Saturday when Berrigan and Katamatite Football Netball teams enthusiastically pulled up their coloured socks in support of the Terry Socks it to Cancer fundraising day.
All players aged from 6 to 50 years wore bright pink or blue socks knowing that their sock purchase would help those in our community who need it most.
When asked why Berrigan Football Netball Club decided to fundraise for the Terry Socks it to Cancer Campaign, Rachael Arnold relied “The cause is close to everyone’s hearts. We know that all funds raised will stay local and help our community members in need”.
But the players tell only half of the story. Sponsors provided valuable financial assistance, club volunteers contributed many hours of work behind the scenes, and community members bought raffle tickets. All were seeking to make a difference.
This is surely reflected in the significant contributions made by both clubs and the success of the raffle. At the Trust Fund, we are incredibly grateful to both clubs for raising $7,024 on the day, with more to be added to the total figure.
Rachael assures us that Berrigan FNC will be back bigger and better in 2025 and is hoping for a warmer day!
