Postponed – Berringa Community Morning Tea
POSTPONED – The Berringa Community Morning Tea scheduled for Saturday, May 2 has been postponed due to COVID-19. Stay tuned for further updates.
The fourth annual Berringa Community Morning Tea will be held on Saturday, May 2 to raise funds for staff development at the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre.
The event last year raised more than $26,000 for the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund’s new nursing scholarship program.
The result was enough to see nurses Tamara Quigley and Nicole Webb undertake their first years of Masters in Nursing Practice and Masters of Cancer Science respectively.
Organisers are hoping the morning tea can again raise enough money to support the nurses through their second year of study, and therefore help strengthen the pool of specially trained oncology nurses at the centre.
The morning tea will be held at Jim and Julie de Hennin’s ‘Jounama’ property, 697 River Road, Talgarno from 10am to midday.
It will include stalls selling plants, produce, cakes, slices, and knitted and crocheted items, as well as an auction and lucky door prizes.
Guests are asked to bring a plate of food to share, or a cake for the cake stall.
Entry is via a gold coin donation.
