Commercial Club Albury investing in community
From the Fight Cancer Foundation to now the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund, Commercial Club Albury has been a major supporter of cancer charities since 2011.
The club has had a long history of supporting many local organisations, charities, sporting groups and individuals within the community for many years.
General Manager Jeff Duck said the club has supported the fight to beat cancer and find a cure for many years.
“Commercial Club first became involved in the Fight Cancer Foundation in 2011 and now we continue with our support in 2020 through our association with the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust,” he said.
“Having such a modern facility in our own area, where our local community can receive treatment without having to travel hundreds of kilometres and be away from family and support is just outstanding.
“Unfortunately, we have seen our own staff, their families and their friends, be affected by cancer in some way and to have a local facility in our area is both comforting and satisfying.”
Commercial Club Albury is a leading registered club in country NSW and offers extensive facilities including dining, entertainment and sports.
The club employs over 300 people from the local area, many qualifying in different trades and degrees throughout their journey.
Staff are employed across two venues – Commercial Club Albury and Albury Commercial Golf Club.
Since 2011, Commercial Club has donated in excess of $285,000 towards local cancer foundations in the fight to beat cancer, find a cure and build a modern local treatment centre for our local community.
Commercial Club is proud to have donated $65,000 to the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust from 2015 to 2020 to be able to provide such a wonderful local service.
