Farewell to a friend of the Trust

The Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund was deeply saddened by the recent passing of a dear friend and supporter, the Hon. Tim Fischer AC.

Since getting behind our Sunshine Week fundraiser last year, Mr Fischer did an enormous amount of work to raise funds and awareness for our cause.

This included organising a hugely successful train trip from Albury to Boree Creek, which raised an estimated $7000.

He spoke about his desire to run a similar event in the future, but unfortunately wasn’t given this opportunity and passed away peacefully at the cancer centre on August 22, aged 73.

Even when faced with his passing, Mr Fischer and his family were still committed to supporting regional cancer services and requested that donations be made to the Trust in lieu of flowers.

If you would like to make a donation in memory of Mr Fischer, please click here and acknowledge him in the comments section provided.

We are truly grateful to Mr Fischer and his family for all they have done for our cause.
