VISION’s Ongoing Support Helps Sunshine Walk Shine Brighter Than Ever
What started with just 60 shirts in 2019 has grown into one of the region’s most anticipated community events, and local business VISION Screenprinting has been proudly behind the Sunshine Walk from the beginning.
As the official T-shirt supplier since the very first event, VISION has watched the Sunshine Walk grow year on year, not just in numbers, but in meaning. “It’s incredible to see how far it’s come,” said VISION Manager Cara Geddes. “And we’re honored to play even a small part in something that brings the community together for such a vital cause.”
Now in their third year as business owners, the current owners of VISION say their support for the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund is deeply personal.
“It’s a no-brainer, really,” Cara explained. “Both my parents received treatment here. For regional families like ours, being able to stay local makes all the difference. My parents didn’t have to travel to Melbourne for treatment. They could keep working, keep living life. That’s huge.”
In addition to supplying hundreds of brightly coloured walk T-shirts each year, VISION has also thrown themselves into the fun side of fundraising, including entering a team in the popular “Pony Hop” race in 2023. “It was absolutely hilarious, one of the highlights of the day. We’ll be back again, maybe with a new rider this time!”
This year, VISION has been recognised as a major naming rights sponsor for the 5km walk.
“It’s not just a donation or a logo for us. This is part of our story, and part of so many local stories,” Cara said. “We want to help make sure the Cancer Centre, and the services it offers, stay strong for everyone who needs them.”
With sponsors like VISION on board, this walk continues to go from strength to strength, with every step making a difference.
