Local Author’s Book Launch to Support Cancer Care
Well-known former English teacher Barry Wenke is combining his love of poetry with a passion for giving back. On Sunday 29 June, Barry will launch his latest poetry collection, Sandprints, at a special community event in Lavington.
Barry, who taught in NSW schools, including Scots School and Albury High School for 40 years, first published his work in 2012 and generously donated proceeds from a previous poetry collection to the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund.
Barry’s doing it again, with $5 from every copy of Sandprints sold going to support local cancer services.
The launch will be held at 2pm at the UPA Murray Vale Community Centre, 324 Wagga Road, Lavington, and includes light refreshments.
RSVPs are essential by 23 June – please call Bett on 0419 493 575 to attend.
It’s set to be a heartfelt afternoon celebrating local talent and a great cause.
